Anna Peterman

Hi! I'm Anna, a rising sophomore at Harvard College. It all started for me in first grade when I won a spontaneous debate with a class bully over why 0+0 equaled 0 not 1. Since that “tutoring” experience, I have tutored over 20 students, more than a dozen of whom are high schoolers from remedial to honors level classes taking Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calc and Calculus I (AB Calc) as well as Conceptual Physics and Physics with Calculus. Additionally, I was the founder and president of my high school Math Club, and I was also a varsity member and top scorer of our Math Team. In addition to math and physics related pursuits, I was Class President for 10th and 11th grade, and I have been playing flute for 14 years.

Nothing beats what I call the “Eureka” moment when a student says, “Ohhhhh!” after finally understanding a tricky concept. Whether you’re like the 11th grader who came to me with a 17/100 on a physics test and we brought it up to an 89, or if you’re like the 12th grader who wanted to go from a 90 to a 95, I am here to help!

I am planning on graduating Harvard with a degree in Physics with a teaching certificate in Math.

Relevant Awards: Physics Challenge Award (2013); AP Scholar with Honor (2014). Fun Fact: Three friends and I once spontaneously auditioned for American Idol with serious expressions, no singing ability, and a choreographed dance routine.

Expertise: Physics, Math, College Consultation
