Q: How do I pay for sessions?
A: You can pay for sessions by credit card. Our online scheduler will walk you through the payment process, using Stripe.
Q: What software do I need to have a tutoring session?
A: All of our tutors can hold sessions via Skype or Google Hangout -- whatever is best for you.
Q: What is your cancellation policy?
A: As a client, you may always cancel a session more than three hours in advance of the designated start time and receive a full refund from TCT. Cancellations made less than three hours in advance of the designated start time will be considered “late cancellations.” In the event of a late cancellation, TCT will issue a Rescheduling Credit for the full price of one session, which can be redeemed on a future booking within 30 days of the late cancellation. Our goal is to work with your schedule as much as possible, but we also have to be respectful of our tutors' time. After a client's third late cancellation, TCT reserves the right not to issue a Rescheduling Credit or a refund, as well as to prevent that client from booking future services.
If a tutor needs to cancel a session, we'll make every effort to find a replacement tutor to conduct the session. In the event that we cannot find a replacement tutor and have to cancel the session, we'll of course issue you a full refund (as well as a discount code toward future services).
Q: What is your no-show policy?
A: Our tutors are busy students at some of the world's toughest schools, so unfortunately there will be no rescheduling or discount if you arrive late to a session. If the client shows up to the session late but within fifteen minutes of the designated start time, the session will be held for the remainder of the time reserved. A client is considered a “no-show” if he/she fails to show up to the session within fifteen minutes of the designated start time. If the client is over fifteen minutes late, the session will be canceled and refunded. But after a client's second no-show, TCT reserves the right not to issue a refund, and to prevent that client from booking future services.
Q: How do I book a package of multiple classes?
A: The more classes you buy, the more you save! To buy a package of 4, 8, 12, or 16 classes, click "Book Online" at the top of our page. Then, click "Click to view packages," right below "Choose Appointment."
Q: I received a Rescheduling Credit. Now what?
A: If you are rescheduling an appointment, click "Book Online" at the top of our page. Then, click "Redeem Coupon/Package." Enter your rescheduling credit code, and then continue booking as usual.
Q: What can I do on my own time to get the most out of my tutoring sessions?
A: Your session includes a free, customized homework assignment. To get the most out of your sessions, you should complete all assignments recommended by your tutor. Circle or make note of any problems you found particularly challenging, including problems where you got the right answer but aren't quite sure why. Mention these problems to your tutor at the beginning of your next session.
